Attractive. Small. There were no markers naming the plants in the garden. Formal English Style. Must keep the gates closed to keep the deer out.
Well laid out with many original garden design's. Restored by local Virginia Flower Club. Late season many things were already past their peak bloom.
A decent little garden to walk through. Free to go in during business hours. Not a place you can have picnics, though, and not a place to bring children unless you're there for the whole James Madison house tour.
The Curator of Horticulture was a delight!nShe was super knowledgeable and friendly!
Nice place for a family visit but house tour is pricey. Excellent hiking trails with free access.
