This was an unexpected gem! We explored the old cemetery and walked down the Carolina Road. There is a path in the adjacent field that is open for walking after 10 am (before 10 it is reserved for hunting).

History in your own backyard! Beautiful little park, well kept, and history a short drive away.

Along with the 1850s church and it's cemetery is also remnants of the north / south route of Old Carolina Rd: predecessor of US Rt 15.nSegment closed off for traffic is found in the west side of the cemetery. Route follows north along Watson Rd and Evergreen Mill Rd towards Leesburg.

Neat spot to learn about the local history of the area.

Small park with historic 1850's church/graveyard and some civil war history and significance. There is ample historical signage regarding both the church, and civil war battle, along with a nice forested trail around back. Great place for a short outing with kids or anyone interested in history.
