I was a camper during 2019 session 3 with birdman and door they were really good counselor I would like to thank shaggy,door,birdman, and gecko the food was really good I can't wait to go for the 2021 sessions

My 12 yrs old son has been a camper for several years now to the YMCA / APYC Camp Kekoka. It is the best summer camp for kids that I know of. They also work closely with the kids from the City of Alexandria. The camp director Cassie and her staff are the best in the field. Best Summer Camp for Kids!!!!!!

My 2 daughters started overnight camping with the Right of Passage weekend at Camp Kekoka. They have returned every year for at least 2-3 sessions. Once and only once I suggested a different YMCA camp and was met with cries of protest. They don’t want to go to any other camp over the summer! Camp Kekoka has become our summer camp ‘Home’; the staff are awesome, they’re excited to see the campers come back every year, they send them Birthday cards during the off season and stay in touch with Facebook, Instagram and Google. This was my oldest child’s first time at a sleep away camp and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience!!! There were so many fun activities, zero electronics (YAY!!), lots of new experiences building confidence and independence, opportunities to socialize and make new friends, and the counselors are FANTASTIC (caring, energetic, encouraging, and great role models)! The administrative staff was very supportive and took time to answer all [one million] of my questions, and gave me some great tips on how to prepare for camp and sending care packages. Seeing daily photos [on Bunk1, Remind, and Facebook] of all the camp activities was a real treat! Thanks so much for all the great memories Camp Kekoka!!! Wonderful experience and we can’t wait to come back again next summer!
