beautiful state park with lots of great trails. their camping is a hike in hike out experience which is very fun and a cool way to get a taste of backpacking without all the hard work. we really like the lost mountain area, and recently did those trails. even their most difficult trails are fairly simple in comparison to some of the other options in the area, so it is a great place to build confidence if you’re a new hiker. bring quarters as you can feed the chickens who roam free in the spring, summer, and fall. lots of picnic areas and grills and ample parking throughout the park, with trails giving you access to the different areas. the entry fee is $7 but you can pay on your phone if you don’t have cash on you, there are QR code’s posted so it is a simple process.
