This place is good! Reasonable rates, considerable dishes and the staff members are regularly kind.
Great Smoothies and good food selection! Smoothies can be made to your preference, i.e. no added sugar.
I visit Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Gainesville quite often and for about 10 years now. I like Mocha Madness smoothie and always order it without added Turbinado sugar. And the smoothie was always tasty enough until the last two months. Now almost every time it looks like crushed ice lightly tinted with chocolate. Firstly, there is no taste, and secondly, drinking it simply impossible due to large pieces of ice that get stuck in the straw. I was quite patient at first, but when patience came to an end, every time I made an order, I asked to make my smoothie at least drinkable. But nothing seems to work. Today after I tried smoothie I bought I had to return it. And I will never buy smoothies from this place again.
Always mess up something in your order.
My friend who lives in Haymarket always loved Tropical smoothie. I live in dc and I came to visit her. We went there to get smoothies and the blond ladie who works at Sunday afternoon was not the nicest. I asked her for some water, she didn’t give me any. Then, when she handled us our smoothie, I asked her again and she gave me warm water, with no ice, and probably from the sink.nI didn’t appreciate her service :) Maybe she can be better next time.
