Great scenic, well maintained trail. Cliffview parking has a really nice bathroom. Chestnut Fall is very close to Cliffview parking. The entire trail is very scenic.
Beautiful trail for biking! Very well maintained. Ranger Crockett was super friendly, answered all of our questions and shared some of the history of the surrounding area.
This trail is lovely! Smooth, mostly level, and a nice hard-packed dirt surface. There are campsites and picnic areas all along the route. My husband and I bicycled from Cliffview Access near Galax to Fries and back and enjoyed it immensely. Pretty scenery along the river, fun wooden bridges to cross... It feels safe because you are not competing with automobile traffic and there was not much bike or pedestrian traffic the day we were there, either.
Nice. Beautiful weather. Perfect for riding.
I love the walk and it's the perfect place to photograph deer but the 7 dollar parking fee is ridiculous!
