The facility and equipment are pretty good! Staff is ok, not overly helpful, but not unpleasant. My complaint is mainly with the way the membership fee works. After a few months, I decided the Y Express wasn’t working for me, so I decided to cancel my membership. I went in in the middle of the month, having already paid for that particular month. I was informed that I would still have to pay for the NEXT month. Why? Just because, I guess. Still, just keep that in mind when you sign up, and otherwise, the equipment and location aren’t bad at all.

YMCA of Central Virginia is very good. I appreciate having multiple locations to choose from. I use the Y Express most often it's close by, but I wish they offered childcare. I have been especially impressed with their yoga classes (Maranda is awesome) & barre fusion classes (Amanda White is awesome too). It's reasonably priced & helpful in meeting your fitness goals.

Good gym for weight lifting. Good free weights and other equipment, clean, and not too busy.
