Great spot for a hike and to let the dog swim. Technically have to be leashed but there were plenty of chances to swim. Decent amount of parking as well.
Amazing campground
DCR managed campground. Beach closed to public so never crowded. Nicely spaced sites, though some are on very hilly terrain. Walking trails are well marked and vary in intensity. Bathroom facilities are relatively new (constructed within past 5 yrs) and kept very clean. No dumping station and no electric available. You are not far removed from civilization, as there is a full range of stores about 10 minutes from the campground. You can hear the traffic noises hum from the MASS Turnpike in the evening. Due to Covid-19, only about 1/2 the sites were available to be reserved last camping season (summer 2020). Expecting the same this camping season.
Easy park to explore, snow shoeing and cross country skiing with snow. A lot of up hill. Well groomed trails.
Perfect place for a socially distant get away. The park was clean and quiet and they had a nice little swimming area for the campers. There is not much by way of amenities but if you're looking for a quiet, family friendly place, away from people this is it.
