Awesome experience - outstanding guide - great person. I took my two kids on their first climbing experience and our original guide no-showed - literally left us waiting at Muir Valley trail head. Once Matt heard our situation he immediately stepped in and provided a professional guided experience. He’s very educated on climbing and the area. He did a great job with my kids by encouraging them at the right time, advising them at the right times, and also letting them figure things out on their own. I’ve used guide services several times for trips throughout the world - I highly recommend Matt for guided climbs in Red River Gorge. Thank you Matt for a rewarding and fun experience!!

Red River Climbing Guides was an absolutely fantastic guide service. We had a range of experience in our group. Matt did a great job of tailoring the trip to our needs individually and as a group. He was extremely knowledgeable of the local area and climbing overall. Each member of our group walked away with a great experience and new tips to up our climbing game. I’ve climbed with Red River Climbing Guides several times. I always felt very safe with the professional staff. As a beginner climber the Red was intimidating. Matt put my mind at ease and also taught invaluable skills to move me forward. Later on I did the training program and I can definitely tell a difference in my climbing. I had plateaued but after just about 6 weeks doing the training I’m able to climb at a higher grade! Highly recommend!!

Absolutely the BEST experience!! We have 3 small kids (ages 5, 9, and 11) and none of us had ever rock climbed before. Matt was patient and informative, we learned so much and had a BLAST!! Such a feeling of accomplishment and fun for the whole family. Highly recommend, two thumbs up!
