Read that this was first come first serve with 5 camping spots and about 20 spots for parking. There’s also a hike that I saw was fairly popular throughout the day. We actually arrived at about 10pm while on our way to Astoria. We prefer to sleep in our car when we travel as we’ve always found beautiful locations without a fee and love to leave first thing after waking up. This location at first glance looked slightly sketchy, there was a trailer as you turned onto the road off of the highway that had it’s lights on. Two others were also car camping so finding a spot to park was easy. There were restrooms and we could listen to the creek all night. For mid February we were extremely delighted by how pleasant of an experience we had. We didn’t get very cold at all. Past this is mainly logging roads, nothing else and to be honest- easy to get lost around. Great for the night and definitely a sweet spot for a picnic or just to rest for legs.

Great quiet spot by the river. Few campsites makes it intimate and cozy. Definitely coming back.

Great little out of the way spot we just happened upon. Right next to the stream.

Five uniquely beautiful campsites situated 20 feet above the creek. Says “walk-in” camping, but the parking area is a literal stone’s-throw away. Enough room to park & turn around w/our 19’ Airstream.nnWe came in early September at night through a smoke & wind storm...ended up parking just outside the entrance to the campground for free. There was tons of room (more than just a pull-out), probably 20 cars could park there.nnT Mobile cell service was about 2 bars - good enough to send emails.
