Charles Waters Campground

Fabulous campground just a short mile or 2 off the highway, so easy to get to. Large spacious spots, and level paved parking for small camper vans or large RV's .. pit toilets are.clean and well maintained, and water and trash cans provided by each toilet bldg. We had campsite #25 right next to the creek .. it was gorgeous and so peaceful. Its just a bargain at just $10, or just $5 if you have a senior lifetime pass like me.

October 2020: No water, no garbage, no electric, no dump, pit toilets, very good Verizon signal at night, weaker in the morning. 2 mike road from the state highway to the campground is paved. Each site is paved, has a picnic table & firepit with natural area. Plenty of Privacy between sites which are are level. Note that they're all all full: weekday night at dusk in October I didn't see a single open site. Next day at noon only 1 available. 4 sites had just tents or staged trailers without vehicles or humans present, so I'd have taken one as they're obviously local weekenders. 3 PBS stations over the air (kids animated, arts & crafts, local politics). Heard many generators, but they were all quiet Hondas. No trash or signs of abuse. Site #2 is disabled (in theory) and is the only one with electricity. Site #9 is likely camp host: water, dump, and power (all locked/ off). Many long pull-thru sites - though most had 18' trailers.

Great place to camp in a tent even tho we mostly saw RVs. Caught some fish there too, yum!!

3000 miles of traveling during this pandemic on just this leg of it alone and we ran into this diamond in the rough have a campground. One of the best we've came across in a long time. Check it out you will like it if you can dry camp
