Get there early. It gets busy towards the afternoon. Beautiful drive.
The campground is split into 2 different sections. One is on the shore of the lower lake (4 sites) and the other (12 sites) sits southeast-ish of the lower lake.nIt's a lovely place, and it's free.
3 stars only because it was a day trip. Its a beautiful area with a pretty rough road & there was still snow all over the camp area. I do think this could be a 4 or 5 star depending on the time of year & how private it COULD be.
Great campground, the road is in great condition as of summer 2019.
Couldn't even find a parking spot. Severely overcrowded!
