National Bison Range

Visitor center closed. Roads open to see wildlife.

The first time I visited the Bison Range, I was 8 years old. Big Medicine, The only White Buffalo was there. I still have a large photo of him. Such magnificent animals. So glad the Range has range has been returned to the Flathead. They have been faithful stewards of the land and her animals forever. Innovation and guardians of Earth at great benefit to us and future generations of not only Tribal members, but everyone else as well.

IT WAS CLOSED ☹

It's a really cool place. The info on their web page showed the visitors center was open. It was closed, along with the day use picnic area. A family member said they check the website this past summer and they said they were open. When they arrived the gates were locked and they couldn't even drive in. Be prepared!

Super enjoyable and got to see some other animals walking around :) would definitely recommend if one wanted a scenic drive! We did not see a lot of bison up close, but it was worth it seeing the views and other animals.
