Smith's Food and Drug

First town I’ve been to that has not one but TWO different Kroger stores to choose from, the other being Fred Meyer. Smiths has marginally better pricing and coupons, though. Do yourself a favor and sign up for their rewards and shop on the weekends in October for extra fuel points

When we first moved to the Twin Falls area a few months ago I had 3 or 4 good experiences with Smith's Grocery Pickup. My last two grocery pickups have been terrible. In one case I had to make three trips back to the store to collect my full order. And today I ended up at home with bad produce, and the only way to complain is to dial the toll-free number, end up in a circular phone tree, and then on hold. I gave up and threw the produce away. Done with Smith's for my grocery pickup orders.

Went to the store early Sunday morning, 6/28/20 thinking it would be safer. Not many customers but several employees not wearing masks, the guy tossing Roma tomatoes on the display, no mask. Lady arranging end cap by dairy had mask under her chin. The checker had a mask on but the young red head girl bagging my groceries had no mask. I’m in my seventies and would appreciate a store with more consideration for its customers.

I shop at Smiths quite often. I always find great deals and the cashiers are very helpful and kind. This review, however, comes because I had a great experience with the bakery lead - Erin. Every time we go we get a fruit and a cookie sample for the kids, but have to skip the cookie for our youngest who is gluten free. Erin this time asked about why we had to decline the cookie offer, and when she learned he is gluten free, she decided to open a gluten free cookie package so he could have one. Nobody has ever offered that for him (I'm sure because of their limits on decision making) so this was very unexpected and over the top kind. She offered us to always come to her if she is there when we are. Erin is one employee that is kind and sympathetic and deserves all the good she gets.

A few weeks ago I was really impressed with Smith's response to COVID19 and how they were one of the first grocery stores to clean the carts and encourage social distancing and the use of face masks. Today (May 18) I think they are sharing the bottom of all the grocery stores in Twin Falls. Although I see marks on the floor, I have never heard an employee encourage their customers to adhere to the signs. Or encourage the use of masks (I would estimate that only 5% were wearing them) Several of the employees don't even have the masks on correctly (germs are spread through the mouth AND nose, therefore both should be covered) Albertsons seems to be able to keep up with the suggested precautions- I wonder why Smith's has slacked off? We are all tired of it, but it would be a real shame if my health compromised husband got this virus from me because I shopped in your store. I am st starting to think that the risk isn't worth it.
