Lava Family Spiritual Sanctuary

The host was awesome!nnHe was upfront about the rules and what was expected, and then bent over backwards helping me and my family find a good spot, even went so far as to get some equipment out and clear the area! Very friendly and open about the activities and making sure we felt welcome.nnThe area was amazing, we had a spot not far from one of beaches along the river and my children were able to play almost all evening. Me and my brother in law sat in the waters and let the small fish swim around us, showing the children.nnAt night, it was almost like we were all to ourselves. The sky was beautiful and you could really get in touch with majesty around you.nnI wish would could have stayed longer and look forward to going back in the future!

Such a beautiful place to camp! The host was super friendly and absolutely bent over backwards to ensure we had a fun time. The tipis are unique and authentic feeling, and the firewood was a great price! I’d give it 10 stars if google would let me!

We had such a great weekend here. It was the perfect way to escape the world for a bit. Our kids had so much fun floating the river and Joel taught them how to axe throw. Such a great time and a real beautiful place.

This is the second time we've stayed at the Lava Family Campground. The experience of sleeping in a Teepee is second to none. The Teepees are very authentic and make for an amazing family experience. The surrounding area with hidden water holes and biking trails is truly beautiful and getting to the campground from highway 15. Staying at the Lava family campground was definitely a highlight of our summer. I look forward to the chance of returning soon. Two thumbs up!!

The campground is beautiful, nestled right next to the Portneuf River. This campground is true camping in every sense of the word.nnCheck in time is 11am and someone should be there to check you in. If you need anything the owners are very helpful, and are on site quit often.
