Quebradas Backcountry Byway

Granted, I only explored the first section. I have plans to survey the entire route, but so far so good. The road is well improved even though it traverses a landscape with many windings and diverse scenes.nThe first stop features some amazing views and a deep canyon. There's a poorly maintained road into the canyon, but I preferred hiking down.nI visited in the Summer and still found plenty of water at the bottom of the canyon. I've posted some pictures below.

I read about this road in the Journal today and I was heading in this direction so I took a chance while coming back from Zozo. The road is rough and I do not recommend speeding. The vistas are unspoiled and you do feel like you are in the wild west. I wish I had more time, and hope to come back here to explore some of the trails. It took about an hour from Trinity site to the Lemitar exit, counting photo breaks. Count on two hours to do it right. Overall I really enjoyed it

Wonderful and beautiful desert views along a well maintained dirt road that can be transversed by most vehicles. Off shoot trails exist with varying degrees of difficulty for those looking for more of a challenge. Directional signs are well placed and highly visible from end to end.

Beautiful drive. I use to drive my LTD Ford through this road12 years ago. I am not sure about now
