Overlook Campground

A beautiful spot to picnic or camp overlooking Santa Cruz Lake. Unfortunately, the road in is closed due to COVID-19.

Nice peaceful place stars were awsome at night. It was nice to hear the coyotes barking hears about 5 groups at once. I felt safe also.

The BLM website seems to indicate that this site is open year-round. We drove here with the intention to camp on 12/27/19 and the gate was locked at 5pm. Some old/faded writing on the gate read that the site is closed until about mid May. We would really have liked to stay here, too bad.

Pretty nice spot.nI found this place last minute and if you stay here you will get some spectacular views of Santa Cruz Lake.nThere is a bathroom, shelter at your camp spot and a stove for cooking as well as a designated spot for a fire.nThere are only 25 spots and about 4 that actually view the lake so if your planning on coming here, I would come early.nThere is a fee to camp. I think like 9 bucks.nOverall cheap and beautiful place to camp and see the stars.nIt’s very easy to find and my friend and I had service the whole time which made me feel safe and still connected to family at home in case of emergency.
