Trampas lakes is great dayhike, no bugs labor day weekend and there are lots inOf campsites at the top of the trail if you want to hike in. Campground itself is basic but nice sites along a creek.
Gorgeous trail! It is uphill the entire way out but the reward of reaching the end is completely worth it! On the drive to the trailhead we took a forest road and that was a major mistake. You will want to drive up through trampas the town and then down a forest road to the trailhead. It would not be a difficult day hike but we backpacked it and it was a little difficult.
Trail leads to beautiful lakes. Trailhead camp just so-so & very busy at times.
Your average campground. No special ammenities to note.
You need very nice surveillance
