Iron Gate Campground

Road to the campsite is approx. 4 miles of very rough road, do not attempt with a regular car. Campsite was small and trash was over flowing out of the trash bins. Overall I thought it was run down. Campsite is very close to parking lot where people park and backpack. Won't be going back.

My all time favorite campground in NM. Gorgeous views and peaceful because RVs can’t make it up the crazy approach road. Hamilton Mesa hike is spectacular.

Beautiful camping spot, will need 4 wheel drive. We had an awesome time camping there with my friends in celebration of their engagement. We arrived at night and we're blown away by the view in the morning.

Need a four wheel drive, the roads is bad in the best of times. This is a great jumping off point to get right into the Pecos Wilderness.

Great out of the way campground and we hiked in for a couple more nights up the trail
