Fort Union National Monument

Great place to visit. Educational. Amazing built all by hand over +100 years ago

The Fort is off the beaten track. But not far. Not many visit,but that can be because of Covid. They have a very informative program with a tour guide talk and question answer session. The store inside the visitor area is well supplied with a diverse range of selections. There is also a diorama museum inside as well. They are pet friendly. Everyone we met was a true expert and all were personable and friendly. The whole area is well maintained and clean. The path tours explained a lot of what you see. There is much historical value here in the aspect of the forts immense impact in the area over a long time.

Read other reviews about the wind which held true for us but the stop and walk through is well worth it, just come prepared.

Interesting and historical place to visit. The scope of activity at this site 150 years ago is almost more than can be imagined.
