I had a very upsetting experience regarding schooling with Katy which I am in the mix of sorting out with the yoga alliance and the WI board of education. I feel that having the experience that I had I should share my truth because I was in a vulnerable student role and her my teacher/leader. My advice is be careful, there are some unhealed issues that for sure cause judgement and ego to prevent effective balanced leadership. I was called out in front of the entire yoga class for leaving class to use the restroom and get a drink, being called out like that in front of everyone caused a lot of embarrassment and anxiety and I needed a moment before I could be on camera again because I was crying, this caused her to kick me out of class in front of everyone. There is much more to the situation which I am sorting with the proper authorities, but this is the height of what took place publicly. This is why I feel I need to speak up, if I do not, more people will experience this.
The kids yoga taught by Martha is great. My son looks forward to it!
The studio is very pleasant and the class offerings are at all levels. I felt very comfortable there and I really like all the teachers I've had for classes so far. Namaste.
