Block Island National Wildlife Refuge

Amazing views

This refuge is not actually accessible to the public. The entrance is marked private and there are several private residences built inside of where the map says the refuge should be. The part that is available for hiking is actually next door in the Hodge family wildlife preserve. It was a great experience, although a very short out and back hike. We saw several kestrels flipping through the brush and the views of the pond were wonderful.
