Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds - Staten Island

I would like to state that your campgrounds are beautiful and wonderful, particularly for children of all ages. I must though voice my concerns in a particular area and my heartbreaking disappointment. We have a “family day” event every year and the children as well as the adults have an amazing time. Unfortunately I did have a very negative experience this year. Please understand as I’m writing this I am absolutely in agreement that “safety” is a #1 priority especially when it comes to children. I have 2 children with autism and feel staff need to be trained not only on safety for all children, but also on the “different types” of children and their special needs as well. My concern is when 1 particular individual whom is supposed to be in a role of “safety” is not understanding or willing to understand the challenges my children and I face. I did speak to the lifeguard supervisor on duty and expressed my concerns about what transpired, but feel more training needs to be done in this particular area.nLet me add, there was no safety issue at all. I would like for understanding and respect that we all deserve.nAnd this will not deter me from visiting for another family day and denying my children a fun day.

Camp that is good for the kids during the summer vacation I'm not sure about the price tag but they have different. Times and dates some kids go for 2 weeks at a time the other kids may do the whole term depending on what you can pay for but there's a lot to do
