Schalmont Middle School

I went here and it was almost as bad as the Jefferson, an off brand version of h*ll. Flat out for the most part the teachers just didn’t care. For most of fifth grade math we played battleship. Literally battleship. And kid would sell slime and fidget spinners (against the rules), bully each other within full view of the teachers, generally act or talk in fairly inappropriate ways and honestly no one cared. I once actually explained that my shoe was broken by one of He other kids, only for the monitor at the time to berate me for daring to where sandals. Another problem was the band and music classes. I get it, good music teacher are hard to come by, but come on. We watched movies for half the year and got yelled at the other half. I actually quit because we were expected to learn how to play our songs on instruments by ear. No sheet music. Moving on....quick question would you let a twelve year old watch Pitch Perfect Two? Call me sheltered, but that’s not exactly G rated for recess.nnStill better than Jefferson though. Even if the bus driver nearly got us killed every day.

I don’t know how this school actually has good reviews. My son went there and was bullied badly, he went to the staff and they always never did anything about it. I actually was considering moving my son to a private school because the staff is so ridiculous but I pushed him to finish off his 8th grade there. But I got to say the High School is Ten Times BETTER!

My kids love this school, the schoolbisnt perfect, but overall seem to encourage kindness and compassion .
