Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge

Well, I've come to the point in my life where I'm reviewing bridges on Google. What is there to say? It's metal, has two levels, and spans the East River reaching all the way from Long Island City to E 59th St in Manhattan's Midtown East. It's pleasing to the eye, photogenic, is fairly long, but a great (and free) option for crossing the river. Is it my favorite bridge in NYC? Not necessarily--but it's still pretty cool, and is definitely a bridge.

Free Bridge to N.Y City

The bridge itself is old and DOT works on it from time to time, but it's a great free way to get into Manhattan... at least for now. There's been talks on and off for years about charging for the bridge but to my knowledge no plans set in motion for it.
