My kind of Supermarket UWS...living

If you get to Fairway early in the morning, it isn't crowded. Great shopping. Good prices. But today, the sushi guy had his mask under his nose, and a customer wore his mask under his chin. The staff can do better.

I shop there frequently and have done for 35 years - that in itself is a testament. It has been pretty good for most foods, with definite emphasis on quantity and variety. Staff always overworked and 10% less interested in helping customers than one would want.nnSince it was taken over by another company , the selection is less good, the music louder, there are more gaps on the shelves. Yes, it wasn't easy to start a new store during a pandemic, but there really is now much less to recommend the store than there was previously. Citarella next door may be slightly more expensive, but in every way it is so much better.

The staff is very polite. The lines are long but move fast and they have almost everything. There isn't any low budget frozen food or Hispanic brands aside from goya but it's expected.

Still a good market with lots of fresh produce and products. I forgot to bring my own cloth bag and the paper shopping bag I bought from them disintegrated within 5 minutes. Loss of a star for that.
