Stefano's Pizzeria

I went to have lunch today at their restaurant. I needed to use the restroom and asked if I could use it before I ordered. The man serving the pizza asked what looked like to be the owner or manager who hesitated and then said oh no it’s not working today. I was standing in front of it and there was no sign on the door. You cannot have a restaurant that doesn’t have a working bathroom. I wanted to sit down and eat lunch but instead I ordered a slice of pizza and asked them not to even warm it up so I could go and find a restroom somewhere. In hindsight I should not of ordered anything from them. It was rude, they blatantly lied and I will never go back there again. Heard only good things about their food but their hospitality is undesirable.

My family loved to come here for dinner, foods were amazing and delicious , prices are very reasonable! Staff were really nice !

Disappointing...really. Got it delivered...everything was ice cold. The baked ravioli dish...for what they charged...wow. I got 6 small ravioli that had a thin slice of cheese on each...looked like a frozen dinner to be honest. The bruschetta bread was so soggy I couldn't even pick it up. On top of it...they brought the wrong drinks and would not return with the right ones...offered to refund the money...but...we ordered drinks for a reason. Will not order here again.

On our next stop to find the greatest Margherita pie... Stefano's PIzzeria in Pompton Plains, NJ. Another place we've passed by so many times while driving on Route 23. We finally stopped. So, what did we order? We went with their regular Margherita (only small was available), a square Margherita, and this one caught our eye... a Napolitano Square. Let's start with that. Upon opening the box, it looks like a typical square pie with regular mozzarella. We were suspicious.. how exactly was this different than a regular square pie? First bite... and a surprise... vodka sauce. This was very good. It is advertised with buffalo mozzarella but the mozz was no different and very greasy. The crust was very good and thin; you didn't feel 'too awful' after eating a few slices. The grease was a bit much but the vodka sauce was a nice surprise.nNext... the regular Margherita. So, we are going to add the square Margherita here as well because...well...they both tasted different. We did scratch our heads on this one but can only conclude that the square was actually a grandma pie that wasn't named that on the menu. The regular Margherita, unfortunately, was bland. It had the right ingredients - fresh mozz, shredded basil, fresh sauce, and a nice thin crispy crust. It just didn't have the taste BUT when we tried the 'Square Margherita' ... homerun Stefano's! Loved it. Same crust size, taste, as the Napolitano, fresh mozz; sauce was fresh and delicious; shredded basil added even more flavor. Honestly, whatever sauce you are using for this pie, just put that on your regular Margherita. Overall, absolutely worth a stop if you're in the Pompton Plains area on Rt. 23 South. A job well done!

I make it a point to stop at Stefano's every time I travel to Pompton Plains. They make the best pizzas. If I lived closer I would be there on a weekly basis.
