My Easter Sunday afternoon Colosseum restaurant review; First of all I was not wowed by the decor. As soon as you come through the doors it's like boom...your there no space around you(very cramped waiting area). To the right it's the bar and lounge area.(which I didn't get a chance to go into) To the left it's the restaurant area. I really thought it would be a more spacious private and intimate atmosphere. It was not! Everything is just out in the open. Too bright and too warm in there. The Tables were way too close to each other. The waiter was nice, and we received our correct meals. The food was good but WAY too expensive..My son and I each ordered the 13oz broiled steak which were $33.00 each ...vegetables extra. Ridiculous! Our bill for me, my wife and our 22 year old son was $125.00. That's with No alcohol, No appetizers, and No deserts ordered. No place should be that expensive. Unless the owner wakes up and lowers his prices we'll never be back. I'll go elsewhere for a steak. p.s. I'm open for suggestions!
First let me say that I truly love the Colosseum. The food is great and the atmosphere perfect. We have been there at least a dozen times. However, the past couple of times have been the same disturbing trend. Let me explain...We ALWAYS sit at the bar, simply the way we like to go out to dinner. Last Saturday was very busy so I do understand why the service would be a bit slow, but here is my issue...the 2 bar tenders are responsible for providing drinks to the entire restaurant (Like most bar tenders in most restaurant's are). They are also responsible for serving the 5 high top tables located in the bar. And finally (and I do mean finally) they are responsible for the bar patrons themselves. We were there for 3 hours and spent nearly $300 dollars. Not once did one of the bar tenders come to us to see if we were in need of service or to see if we needed anything. Each time we needed a drink I had to call to the bar tender, and believe me this was no easy chore. I am not blaming the bar tender per se , as stated the restaurant was very busy, BUT this is unacceptable service. I will honestly re-think going there again because of the service at the bar. As I said, I understand that the restaurant was very busy and that the bar tenders were working VERY hard BUT is that my problem? It is the owners responsibility to provide good service to go along with good food. One without the other is not acceptable. So here is my message to the Colosseum owners...hire another bar tender on busy nights.
Not trying to be dramatic, just honest:nnNothing was particularly bad, but the food was mediocre. The red sauce was just on par with half decent jar sauce, sides were generic, and everything else was just.... blah. Going by reviews, the fact that they take reservations, and that other customers looked like they were dressed for a special occasion, assumedly at a special establishment, I expected a lot better. There are other restaurants withing 5-10 minutes of here that have excellent food.
Came for dinner with some friends. Unfortunately, we had to ask for a new server and after that things were more enjoyable. Italian flavors are hard to master some of the menu items are hit or miss. The appetizers are great
As the chef of this fine establishment. I highly recommend the place the atmosphere is comfortable and the service is great. Then the food is amazing we cater to each table an we can also do things not on menu per customer request.we also take allergies with all seriousness an go above an beyond to make your experience great
