Greenland Central School has a nice facility with nice teachers. Teachers have a nice way of getting to students who need extra help. Overall a good education for your student.

Greenland Central School is not the academic path I would recommend for your child. Greenland spends a greater amount of money on new chrome books (a resource that is not necessary) than getting better school lunches or working pencil sharpeners. Another thing that GCS needs to fix is the water damage and water leaks in the ceiling (mainly in the music room). Stem class is also not given all the resources it needs due to the fact that the class one is in the basement and Mr. Weld, the stem teacher, has had to be creative with his robots splitting them between 8th grade classes. As I already stated Stem is in the basement. Greenland needs to also expand. If you know anything about this school, then you would know that it is increasing in numbers and that having only two classes of any grade is becoming harder to handle. Because of the increase of students 7th grade is no longer able to go to cooking and wood-shop. GCS has also created a new class called PBL, this stands for project based learning. PBL was a class added to 7th and 8th grade because they didn’t have enough classes for both grades to function. Teachers also show sighs of sexism towards students. Many boys will get in trouble for the same thing that a female student is doing. For example, a boy will be talking in class when the girls are on the other side of the room will be chatting with her peers as well. In addition Greenland doesn’t offer the best education either. I went to this school, and I must say I am not the strongest in spelling and grammar. Many students who were in my class didn’t know how to spell sentence correct until 7th grade. GCS also has trouble with staff, this years 8th grade students have had math teachers coming in from the left and the right. I have to say that many of these students (mainly the 8th grade) are behind in this class and have not met most of the standards. And lastly if you have a child with special needs like down syndrome or autism I would steer clear. I have a younger sibling who went to this school, she was friends with an autistic boy and he wasn’t treated with the care that he needs. It is required by law that people with special needs are allowed and participants in the classroom, however this boy was instead taught in a small room the school cleared out just for him. Due to the school not giving this child the teaching he needs, the mother made arrangements and the boy has now been transferred to a different school . All in all, I believe that you may want to rethink sending your child to GCS.

The only people I liked in that school were the janitors and the only fun memory was having a pine cone war in the bathroom.

use budget for things the school actually needs like edible food not chrome books
