The sites are very small and we were right on top of other campers. This is a huge campground and was packed on the weekend I went. I would go back but maybe a different site. I liked being in a wooded site but it was rocky and small. Enjoyed the pool but it was small area and very packed with tons of kids running around and practically jumping on your head. The staff were very nice . I know this is a mixed bag review but I think if we went on a different weekend and had a different site I would give it 5 stars.
Nice campground. Here over Columbus day weekend so everything was not open. Friends rented a cabin close to us very affordably. Close to Meredith & Weirs Beach. Our site was big & clean. Seasonal campers were friendly as was all the staff & owners.
CAMPER BEWARE!!!nnUpon my family’s arrival at The Twin Tamarack, we checked in, excited to start our long Columbus Day weekend, around 4:30 or so, an 1 1/2 after check-in. We received our key to the trailer at site #68 and walked into this!! Feces on the toilet seat, stained sheets, dirty microwave, filthy cookware, unwashed dirty floors and bathrooms. Dust everywhere.... and hair still inside the showers! Completely disgusted by the stench, and horrified by what we were seeing, we called the front to make them aware of how unclean the trailer was. Mind you, we were originally told by the owner that professional cleaners cleaned and disinfected after each guests stay, prior to us agreeing to put down our down payment to begin with. The woman taking our call said to her husband (The owner) what we were reporting looking to him for feedback; the man said, and I quote, “I only went in to make sure it didn’t stink.” The woman apologized and sent another employee to clean. Needless to say, my family and I were displaced until 8:00 p.m with a van full of belongings and groceries we had just purchased for our family vacation. We had to now go out to dinner and feed our family of five. We were offered a complimentary night, however, the night was already gone, and the trailer we had rented for the weekend was minimally cleaned. We asked the owner to meet us in the middle at half price, off of our already [paid] three night stay, because we had just driven 3 hours to get there; were displaced until 8:00; had to go out to dinner and feed our family; and by then we just wanted to rest. (So my family was willing to settle because of this whole ordeal and just stay). The couple proceeded to laugh in my face, and said it was “my prerogative” if I wanted to leave, and the night was not gone.” Unwilling to work with us, after their mess-up, we got our full refund back. My husband and I were appalled by the owners, and how rude and miserable they were. Sorry for the long post, but I feel any family visiting should be aware of this, especially during a pandemic! Stray far away from this campground. You will be disappointed if you stay.
Pulled up solo on a quiet Indian Motorcycle after a 12 hour day riding in 100° heat. Went in registered and paid if full CA$H. When ready to go to site they asked where I was parked and what I was driving. told them a Indian Motorcycle..then all I heard was ohhhhhhh. We don't allow motorcycles in here..our people don't like them. I mean I am as polite as could be. Yes Ma'am ..Thank you...please the whole 9 yards. What's this like the 1950's and 60's I am riding a $30,000 motorcycle. Stay clear . They said I could park and carry my stuff fully loaded through a gate to a site...Any idea how many trips that would be.. Stereotypical B.S. I never ran into since I started street riding in 1979.
Very nice and quiet. Small sites but nice if your camping with groups. People who run it are very pleasant and attentive. Will definitely come back
