Food was disgusting and boring.nI wish gifs were available to describe how bad it was.nnThis place either needs to shut down to make room for a proper Mexican restaurant or get a complete facelift with a proper chef and a proper menu.

The smothered burrito was unbearable, taste like it came out of a can

Went in to order food to go. Cook was hanging out at a table with a random guy who was roaming the shopping center shortly after and looked up to something. Cook should've been cleaning the kitchen as it was visible from counter and appeared to be quite neglected. Ordered a chicken burrito and 3 cheese enchiladas. Was charged 750 for my 3 gummy and poorly constructed enchiladas and an additional 375 for beans and rice. Pretty sure rice was in microwavable pouch and put on plate and the beans looked like a newborn's discharge. The chicken burrito was given no thought or effort. Nothing Mexican about this place at all. My German mother can make a more authentic dish and a TV dinner might beat it in a contest. As I write, my stomach turns. I would consider sitting out in front of the building and tell people to just turn away. Not worth the time. Just go next door to Subway!

I am the owner of la Familia. I would like to express my dearest apologies to any of the bad experiences in the past. We also post new specials everyday. We have a new staff that is wonderful and polite. We have also updated our systems to accept credit cards. We love to hear your feed back to help us keep improving our service and food. We hope to serve you agian.

Unique ground beef and cheese sopapillas: for 20 plus years, I have been a patron of the La Familia. One of my favorite things on the menu is their beef and cheese sopapillas. As far as I know, this is the only place in Colorado (and maybe in the United States for all I know) where you can find sopapillas stuffed with ground beef. Other Mexican restaurants offer chimichangas stuffed with shredded beef, which is probably more authentic Mexican, but the seasoned ground beef with melted cheese in a crisp tender sopapilla dough, is a worthwhile culinary experience. I have each bite down to a science; start with a hamburger dough piece and spoon salsa and sour cream on top. Save the outside crust for after and enjoy! Or indulge yourself and start out with a piece of the crust with honey while the crust is still warm.nAs far as atmosphere goes, the restuarant is small town, but clean, and our waitress we had for our last visit was very accommodating and friendly. There are plenty of other items on the menu, along with a daily special, but for me, it's always been the beef and cheese sopapillas.
