We have camped here twice in the 2020 season. The new owners and management are making great improvements; new layout, more full hookup sites and a better reservation system. They care about their guests and try to be accommodating and helpful to all. The location is great for access to Higgins Lake. They even offer a boat storage area! It is a quiet and family friendly campground; which is absolutely perfect for us!

We are new seasonal members and are in love with the campground. The park is quiet and a place to relax. It is clean and well maintained. The managers are very nice and inviting to say the least. Our family has enjoyed being here every weekend. Even with the playground being closed due to COVID our children find lots to do. They enjoy walking the trails and looking at the springs!!

We love this campground. It is a great family oriented place. The managers do a great job of running it. They are very friendly and always willing to help. The campground is located close to Higgins Lake access, hiking trails and atv trails.

We just left Northern Nights after a 4 night stay with friends. Apparently there are new owners and new managers. I can say, with certainty, that we will never be back. We were with a group of five families, 10 adults and 10 children. While the campground itself did not appear to be poorly taken care of, the managers seemed completely inept at trying to run a successful campground with an inviting atmosphere. From the day we arrived until the time we left, they nit-picked/harassed us and complained about multiple issues they had with our group. They claimed we put gas or oil on our fire because it was burning black/blue. We had actually let kids put a color packet in the fire. They complained because one of the families in our group did not park in the correct direction. They complained because one truck was parked across from camper and not on lot. They called to tell us our cornhole boards were on someone else’s lot. They got mad that our kids were playing by another camper (that was actually on our lot). They complained the last day because I was on a walk, listening to a podcast and was not allowed to walk in a certain part of their path. It was not marked. They spend the entire day driving around looking for infractions. We complied with everything they asked and they still complained. The owners will inevitably lose a ton of business if they don’t step in or find new management. On Thursday night, the managers got into it with the maintenance guy. All of our kids were outside and got to witness plenty of cussing, racial remarks, and the maintenance guy even throwing a shovel at the managers. The one thing we actually did that was against campground rules was one family brought firewood into the campground. After we were talked to, we didn’t use any of it. Go to KOA down the road or hit up the state park campground. Even with DNR officers driving around, you won’t be made to feel like you’re under a microscope. Camping is supposed to be laid back and relaxing. This was not either.
