Work of Art Painting

Work of Art Painting painted my house a few years ago. I chose them based on the positive online reviews and the estimate provided. I was told the job would take 2 days. I needed the great room (with vaulted ceilings, ceiling fan, and recessed lighting), hallway, kitchen, and dining rooms painted. The job was pretty straightforward - all of the rooms to be painted the same color and the ceiling painted white. At the time, I didn’t have any furniture in the house and the flooring was going to be redone so they didn’t have to worry about their surroundings. I told James (owner) during the estimate that the floor company was going to arrive on day 3 to install the new flooring and carpet. On the first day of the job, Dave showed up in the morning. He painted for a couple of hours and then left for lunch. He came back with his daughter who was wearing a WOW 1-Day Painting shirt. He told me she is a good painter and she started to help him paint my house. This was unexpected and not part of the plan but I let it go since it looked like she knew how to roll paint onto my walls. After about an hour, she left. The next morning, Dave showed up for work but after a couple of hours, he left and was gone for several hours. He called me and said something came up and couldn’t return. I reminded him that the painting needed to be finished today because the flooring was going to be installed the next day. I ended up having to reschedule the flooring installation which also required me to reschedule the movers. On the third day, Dave came to my house in the morning to paint and then left during lunchtime. He came back to my house with a kid (he looked like he was 13 years old). The kid picked up a roller and before I knew it, paint was applied so thick that it was dripping down my walls (left to dry that way), he painted over vents and outlets, and got paint on the trim and ceiling lights. I called James and told him some kid off the street is painting my house and making a mess. James came to my house to take a look and I asked him to fix everything. After he was done scraping paint off of the outlets, sanding the dried drip marks, painting missed areas, and repainting areas that had roller marks, he asked me to inspect all surface areas to see if he missed anything. I found several areas that needed to be repainted/ cleaned up but some areas I didn’t notice until they were long gone. For example, I can still see the original ceiling color of where they missed painting around the recessed lights and ceiling fan. It appears they tried to cut around it as close as possible, but the proper way would have been to pull the lights down a little. As for the fan, they could have cut closer so that it didn’t leave a ring. Everyday as I walk in and out of the rooms of my house, I’m reminded of the terrible job they did.

I used them to hang my Christmas lights outside and they do amazing work. I’m not a easy person to please. I have a high standard for customer service and work of art far exceeded that bar. They went out of their way to make sure I was happy and the house looked great. I will be going back to them next year!

James and his team have done our Christmas lights for the last several years. They helped with design, light selection, materials, installation and removal. After the first installation they put everything in a bin and each year we just have to put the bin out and they do the rest. They are punctual, professional and just a pleasure to work with! Highly recommend!!!

Very friendly, professional and respectful. Easy to work with, ok with kids and dog. Excellent work and fast. Moved furniture and other items out of the way and back. Kept area clean. Great value!

They have put up out Christmas lights for approximately the last 4 years. We have been very satisfied with their service of putting up as well as taking down our lights. If you are looking for a company to hang your lights, look no further. Work of Art is more than capable of completing the job.
