Ogunquit Lobster Pound Restaurant

The BEST lobsters I've ever had in my life!nIt's a must-visit place! The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food is absolutely out-of-this-world delicious! I've always thought that Maine lobsters tasted better, but the Lobster pound has a special way of cooking it too. They cook them outside in those huge pots filled with the sea water. They have lines running down to the ocean to pump up the water. Also, try raspberry margaritas, they are delicious!nThey have the most beautiful lot and they have lots of seating outside.

Very organized friendly staff. This is a perfect restaurant for large family gatherings! The server indicated that their lobster stew if great but she recommended going with the lobster over any other fish meal they offer. If you're going for fresh lobster, this is a fantastic place to come. You're seated at a table with a number on it. You take your number with you for a walk outside in a covered area and pick out whether you want a female (may have roe) or male lobster and how many pounds are you looking from the tanks they have them in. We asked for 1 1/2lb. each. They cook them in filtered salt water. You give them your number and they give you a slip to give to the server.nThey had great drinks..we ordered a margarita and blueberry lemonade. Their warm, homemade bread was fabulous. The lobster was served cracked already so not much more work to do. They had an awesome spinach salad with the perfect amount of toasted almonds, egg, onion, and bacon. It was just served on a plate that was too small to cut it all up but no big deal getting a bigger plate. Many long tables of families eating together with lots of little kids. The staff filled in where ever necessary getting orders to the customers. They had walkers with walkie talkies walking up to check on how things were going. When you are done you take your check and pay at the cashier. It was and experience! We will be back and perhaps stay for the wonderful looking deserts next time.

Authentic feeling of lobster in the rough. Log cabin exterior of building with many well spaced picnic tables outside under a canopy of trees. Waitstaff friendly and helpful. You get to pick your lobster. Can not get any fresher than that.

Amazing food and a lot of gluten free choices. Our waitress was also very nice.
