Good times for the whole family. Lovely hike to a picture perfect Maine Island coastline..including shipwreck.
A reminder of how unforgiving the sea can be.
A really awesome hike to do while on the island. You will certainly want to come out to check it out and make sure to find out the story of it because it is quite interesting to see. Monhegan is an overall interesting place to visit, sometimes like places like here, it felt overcrowded with the people taking pictures of it. Other than that, it was still a great place to visit and it would make sense why there is lots of people here checking it out.
I absolutely loved this hike/walk. It is absolutely gorgeous and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. Even my Mom who has knee troubles enjoyed it. It is good for people of all ages.
The shipwreck and the whole cliff trail around Monhegan Island was such a fun day of exploring. Be prepared for rocky and uneven terrain. Plan to go hiking, not for a stroll. We were wearing sneakers and had food and water to be out for several hours. The views from the cliffs (there are lookouts too numerous to count) are stunning.
