This place is awesome! So many different animals, all clean and well cared for! Virus protocol made little to no dent in the fun! I can't wait to bring my son back when the new installations are completed. One small caveat: parking is minimal, and if you pull down the wrong row in a large vehicle, there is no room to turn and you'll be forced to back out the way you came, possibly into oncoming parking-lot traffic.
We took our 3 children yesterday for one last family adventure before school starts - we were pleasantly surprised with DEW Haven. The variety of animals was amazing and they all looked very well fed. I used to frequent the DC Zoo and was always surprised at how malnourished the animals there always looked but this was not the case at DEW Haven - they are definitely fed well! We walked through twice, feeding the animals and enjoying every minute. The kids laughed, talked to the animals, and learned a few things from the signs at each enclosure. It was clear to us that while this was not a “big city zoo” with high end enclosures, it is a rustic sanctuary where every dollar earned is used to take care of the animals! The price was very reasonable and we will definitely be back!!!
Great little Zoo with great prices. Very family friendly. Owners are great and really sweet with the kiddos. We will definitely be back. This was our first time here and not our last. No complaints, keep up the great work.
A great out of the way to see all sorts of exotic and non exotic animals. These people work very hard to give these animals a good home. My wife and I enjoyed our visit and will visit them again. Bring your kids and enjoy a great family outing and get to see over 200 animals. You're kids can even feed some of the animals, just not the lions or tigers, LOL. Come help support the care these people give to these animals.
This place is AMAZING! From the moment you park and see a peacock stroll by! to the very moment you leave. Wonderful owners and staff. The shaded paths and the natural enclosures really show how much these animals are cared for and love. Best part is you can walk through as many times as you like. We sat in the shade at the picnic tables, and had a lunch with a very friendly male peacock! SO BEAUTIFUL! Well worth the ride for us from Winterport Me. And also a very family friendly priced gift shop. Highly recommend a visit!
