We had a GREAT weekend at Rock Cut! Sites were big, lots of great walking paths, friendly staff! Bathrooms could use some love but you’re camping... I don’t usually expect luxury bathrooms at a stare campground! Can’t wait to go back!

It's a well-maintained forest preserve Campground. They have BBQ Pits. It's great place for hiking and biking! Also you can drive right alongside the beautiful glistening Lake. There you will see fishermen in their fishing boats pulling in their catch. There's a Pier you could fish from the pier or perhaps launcher boat there. It's a place to go and relax and enjoy the fresh air and nature.

Being from Texas visiting Illinois I'm used to camping in areas where nature dominates. Well this place was overcrowded with families whooping it up until past 10pm. No social distancing here. I must say the bathrooms are some of the most revolting I have ever seen. There are mosaic tiles missing all over the floor. With Covid19 you would think the state would maintain the facilities. Texas State Parks put this place to shame. Never again.

The staff was very nice considering we arrived during a shift change, didn't have a reservation and they were book to near full capacity. They found a spot for us and even offered an alternative if we wanted it. I'm very happy with the Rock cut State Park Campground Permit office and their staff.
