Loving community. Great programs. Very inclusive. Rabbi is very fun and the community will make you feel at home.

We drive 20 minutes each way from Glenview at least twice a week to bring our kids to religious school, attend Shabbat Services or attend and event or meeting. There HAS to be a good reason to make such a commute when there are options closer to our home. If you're looking for a fancy building, then move on. If you're looking to meet warm friendly people and build or network with a diverse Jewish culture, read on.nnOur family has been members for just under ten years and both our children and my wife and I have made many long lasting and terrific friendships. Unlike other synagogues with 800+ families, this community is tight and intimate where everyone knows each other and is welcoming to all. One's voice is encouraged to make contributions for the better but there is never pressure to participate. I have found the enthusiasm that you put in comes right back at you ten fold. The Rabbi has a young family and is very warm and welcoming.nnOverall, the friendships we have made and the acquaintances we interact with make this synagogue a terrific community for any Jewish person looking to build upon their Jewish lifestyle.

Call us old school, but we think a synagogue should know your name, welcome you warmly, and make new and unfamiliar faces feel at home. I won't name the North Shore synagogues that should know better, but Ezra-Habonim is certainly the one Skokie conservative synagogue that treats everyone like family. Come introduce yourselves and see what it means to be valued.
