J & D Small Engine Repair

Jim was a great help and got my tractor up and running so I didn't have to wait two weeks to mow. I popped a deck belt and the tractor did have to be taken to the shop for repair. It was fixed, and back, ready to mow, in much better shape than it left my house. Thanks again, Jim! You earned my business and my trust. I will recommend J & D to anyone who needs mower repairs.

Extremely overpriced on parts new or used. I've tried to patronize j&d several times because they are a local business, but their pricing is absolutely ridiculous!nnI can buy parts online cheaper new, than what j&d are getting for used parts. This is supposed to be a Christian based business, i have a hard time believing that!nnI will never return to j&d and absolutely do not recommend this business to anyone ud83dudc4e

Took mower in to have drive belt replaced, it was starting to slip. That's all I wanted done. Was told they were three weeks out on work but could probably slip that in in a couple days and to bring my mower over. Three weeks later I still haven't heard back. My wife calls to follow up , and he said he was working on the carburetor. I then called and asked what that was all about since there was nothing wrong with the engine and I just wanted a belt replaced. He said he must have been mistaken and to call back Monday. On Monday we called he said he was done. Picked up the mower and noticed on the invoice that blades were sharpened, plugs and air filter cleaned and carburetor removed and cleaned. This was odd since I just put on a new air filter before taking it in and there was only about five hours use on the plugs and maybe ten hours on the blades. When I got the mower home it ran terrible. It won't idle and only runs normal under load when the blades are running. I mowed for about an hour and my deck belt slipped off. So I look at the invoice again and it says he replaced the deck belt too, I had just put a new one on. I took my mower here just to get a drive belt replaced. I don't even think that was done but he screwed up my engine and put on a deck belt that lasted an hour. And I had to wait three weeks of not mowing my lawn for the privilege of having my mower be worse off than it was to begin with.

Super nice guy. Should have saved time and money. Had to return immediately with same issue said nothing wrong but ran a few minutes and died would not start again. Same issue it went in for. Never repair. Buy new you will be money ahead. Sorry I tried to save a little money I'm told it works. My mower says it doesn't
