Oakland Freedom Rock

Just approximately a month ago I happened to see as I was driving by the Oakland Freedom Rock, that a man was taking a picture of his BEAUTIFUL German Shepard's as they sat ... one on each side of the Saluting Soldier.nI was hoping he'd have shared it here.nSO DISAPPOINTED I didn't just turn around and ask to capture a shot myself. I happened by this place while driving through Oakland early in the morning on the 23rd of December on my way through the country roads of south west Iowa. It was extremely cold and I almost passed it up with the thought I would come by later but, I knew that may not happen and I'm grateful I stopped. I have some old connections to Oakland and this is a valuable asset to the small town. There are places to eat around this display so take a few minutes and pay tribute and visit some local business if you have the time.

Its a neat rock with a great tribute painted on the sides... However the coffee/tea cup takes away from what it could be.
