Hawkins Ridge Lodge

From the guy that brought the fresh squeezed OJ.nWe visited Hawkins Ridge for a three day hunt the first week of February. Had a great time. Craig and his team work hard so customers can be comfortable and have a great time. All of the amenities of home exist here.nI saw deer during all hunts except one. I never saw a shooter buck, however others had sightings, just no shot opportunities.nThe stands are marked very well and directions are pretty clear. I would definitely return.nThanks.

This family and the staff I’d consider family truly treat every hunter/guest as if they were apart of the family. The accommodations were great, conversation were so memorable, and the hunting was an escape from reality. Mother Nature doesn’t always work how we hope but I assure you as a business owner myself Craig and his family make the experience amazing. I will make this a trip I look forward to every year. My husband had the following experience. The accommodations were excellent and the staff were friendly. However, from an avid hunters perspective, I would suggest booking another venue rather than this for the following reasons 1) The owners and staff do not appear to be experienced in deer hunting . 2) Lack of trail camps and inadequate knowledge of the deer population and deer patters 3) Poor response to deer feeders and inconsistency in feed.nnIn Response to Owner :nnWe all make mistakes and do so with regularity. No one enjoys being wrong as it is an unpleasant and emotional experience. The question is how do you respond when it turns out you were wrong? Every rebuttal from every individual that has a negative experience you claim zero accountability and are defensive to an aggressive level. The camp is only 30 acres and you lease the remaining 7000 acres thats distributed all over Eufaula. A guide of yours stated that you don't use trail cameras. Furthermore if the feeders are maintained weekly then why do they so infrequently work?nnYou DO NOT deer hunt. Just because you have 150 tree stands, 85 food plots and 58 feeders means nothing to me. So what if you go through 12-15 tons of corn annually? You could be feeding the many other habitants for the woods other than deer. However you would not know that because again you do not use trail cameras.nnAdditionally, when is the last time you performed a control burn of the 7000 acres you lease? Look its ok, you don't know what you're doing and you have focused more on your operation toward pumpkin patches and other revenue generating aspects of your facility. I emphasize to the public reading this review that you do NOT properly maintain your deer population and do not understand up-to date deer hunting management.nnOnly someone with a very fragile ego and low self esteem can admit NO wrong doing. You literally have to distort my perception of reality to protect your fragile ego and are no longer culpable.

Our family had a great time at Hawkins lodge..the lodge is plenty big enough for a large family like ours..the pool table kept the kids occupied at night ..the porches and fire pit are nice to just sit around and relax...Mr Hawkins and his son Jake were very helpful and made sure we was taken care of everyday..the lake and lake house was a hit for all of us but especially the kids..the kitchen at the lodge was plenty big enough to cook for the 20 of us with no problem at all...i would recommend Hawkins Lodge for a family get away or just a weekend trip...we we be going back next year...
