Pretty peaceful little place, nice to walk your dog, just not a fan of the traffic. But none the less a neat place to chill and relax.

This place is so peaceful. As a bonus, two pokestops, and a popular spot for meeting up with fellow players! Police watch this place and it is fairly safe most hours of day.

So my Wife recently showed me this tiny lil piece of [potentially] crazy cool History, called The Boiling Spring. Hence the towns name lol. After 15 years of living in Spartanburg, I never knew this lil spot even existed! As we walked down to it, I soon sadly figured out why. The Boiling Spring has been condensed down to no more than a shallow water drain caged around to look somewhat like a well. It's sadly been left to derelict with 2 dead squirrels halfway hanging out of the spring side drain. They obviously fell in from the grossly overgrown surrounding trees to land in a literal death pit with no escape because of the way the City turned a beautiful spring into a drainoff well of doom, maggots, debris, poor trapped animal carcasses, and trash.....In a hole of stagnant water with methane gas escaping slowly from the drain where the 2 unfortunate squirrels were decomposing. Very sad spot with the Public passing every second with no acknowledgement to the historical sites mostly because no one knows it even exists with all the businesses overtrenching it's potential beauty everyday.

What this spot of history has been relegated to is a travesty. By the time anyone decided to actually do anything about saving the town's namesake, it was too late. It's now just an overgrown, sad, lonely memory. Even the parking area is next to a dumpster behind a Verizon store (formerly Blockbuster). This was a poorly planned, poorly executed, and poorly maintained attempt to salvage a piece of the past.
