Every year we like to see Saluda Shoals when the Christmas lights are on, and every year it gets better! The first couple of years we drove through. It was beautiful. Then we walked it, and now that's what we do every year.nIt's better because you don't have blind spots like in a car. You can stop anytime to enjoy light displays. Plus it a cool night perfect for a walk.nIt's a long walk, but if you don't want to or can't walk back, there are buses to shuttle tired people back to the parking lot. If you can walk back to the parking lot, you get to see everything twice. It's wonderful!nWe bring a thermos of hot cocoa and bologna sandwiches and cookies or chips. It's just our thing. Actually, it's a romantic walk. We dance to the music and sing.nWear comfortable, sturdy shoes and warm socks. It does have a curve or 2 where the wind blows through you, but only for a minute.nI wouldn't bring small children. It's cold, dark, and a very long walk for them. Plus the only light comes from displays, so I think it's far to easy to get separated from distracted little ones.nNo pets are allowed, so don't even try to say your dog is a therapy dog with a State issued therapy animal ID. I saw someone try to bring a dog with a vest that said it was a therapy dog, but no State ID, and it didn't work. So, leave pretend therapy animals home unless it's a therapy peacock, but that's just because I think that would be great to take a selfie with a therapy peacock before you have to leave. Selfish? Yes.nOK, so hopefully I will see everyone walking the lights this year!

The River Center at Saluda Shoals was the perfect venue for our family baby shower! Above and beyond service, bright, appealing facilities and outstanding prep kitchen for our needs. Plenty of parking and wonderful team support throughout the event. You won’t regret it.

This is a very nice facility there were lots of rooms for behind the scenes organization before and as the event I was helping with was going on. The grounds are well maintained feel open and safe you're in nature but not in the woods. And the building hide good lighting and lots of open space for people to mingle. This would be an excellent wedding venue or family reunion. Is plenty of parking too so if you have a crowd or lot of people you don't have to worry.

Beautiful area. Banquet areas nice. Lawn art is eye catching. Thank you to Clemson University for hosting thier CEPSCI Certification class here, great choice.

I've been for several work meetings and wedding or two. This is a very nice venue from my experience. Several partitioned rooms allow for flexibility in terms of size. There's a nice patio out back. I've never paid the bills so unfortunately I cannot speak to the cost aspect. Overall a really nice place to host a get together.
