This was the first time to go camping at Lake Heyburn. When we got to the gate stop sign, no one was there so after a few minutes my husband honked lightly. The man in the camper opened his door and rudely said he was off what did we need. I told him we were booked for a couple of nights and he said go on in. How were we to know. The spot wasn’t exactly how the picture showed but it was fine. If you have dogs beware there are sticky hitchhikers that get stuck to their fur and are horrible to remove. We will go back because it was a quiet, peaceful place to camp. Pick your spot carefully because they aren’t very level. Needs some work from the Corp of Engineers.

It was fun i was on route 9 it was fun we played in the water and we fished!!! It was really fun but i wish there were less cow ants but other wise it was fun

Very nice place to camp! Tent friendly.. not expensive. Nice treed spaces. The spaces are a little close together and you have to share a hydrant with the next space. Not horrible but a little inconvenient if you need to reposition for access. Showers are just ok. They automatically shut off, and the water is HOT. Would probably be nice in the winter, but not when its 90. There is no control on the temp. Nice beach area. And a nice swim area.

Restrooms were cleaned early in the morning. No camp Host during the week ....they have have a major wasp infestation... 4 of 8 family members were stung ...other visitors had the same issues....we used an entire can of wasp spray...
