Very nice secluded location. Great place to have a fire on a cold windy day to get out of the snow. Wish people were more into preserving history instead of stealing. This place used to be a museum until it was broken into many times and they removed the remaining artifacts.
The attic is filled with bats! Beware! Otherwise a neat place, very cool preserved historical site.

This is one of our few disappointments in the GSMNP. Signage and information on how to get here is okay, but once you are in the valley (after a pretty long trek), the signage and landmark information is virtually nonexistent. There is supposed to be a printed self-guided tour booklet available, but we never saw it. At minimum, the NPS should make the guide available online.
