I worked here as a Director so I know what I am talking about. My prospective is the one of an employee but I can assure you that apart from the counselors (most of which are really nice) the Directors are pretty awful people. I've received defamatory comments from coworkers and false accusations from coworkers and the owner who harassed me for most of the time. As a teacher at the camp I socialized with most of my students who revealed to me their fear of the owner (this should not be the case in a happy fun environment). I always tried to be fun and social with the kids but only got yelled at for interacting so much even though i was one of the favorite directors/counselors exactly for this reason!ni'm not implying you will not have a good time here but take these comments into consideration as I worked in other camps where the attitude towards kids and coworkers was positive instead of negative. Negativity and hatred does not have place in these camps.nOne more thing, The food is insanely Bad and unhealthy so depending on how you feed your kid i'd think about that too.nFun fact they fired me based on those false accusations without even listening to my side of the story and left me on the side of the road with a broken baggage, a good mile from the bus stop, 3 hours from New York. That will be the worst day of my life

This is the best camp in the world this is about to be my 10th year and I don’t have one bad thing say. I’ve made nothing but great mementoes and friends here. I recommend it at anybody at any age.

Both of my kids have gone to camp here. One for a couple of years and the other for 6 or 7. They both always had great times. Made a ton of new friends, went on fun trips and got to participate in cool activities. I asked them both and they said they would go back if they could (other summer activities as they have gotten into high school have gotten in the way). FWIW, my younger brother also went here for 15 years - between being a camper and a counselor, so that's gotta count for something too.

I have been recommending Camp Half Moon for several years with great success. Campers return from their experience reporting wonderful people, great activities and a beautiful location. The end of a summer session at CHM always brings tears and the promise to return! Well done Camp Half Moon!
