My father went here as a child and says it changed his life. He was poor as a kid and came here on a scholarship. Had he not? I wouldn’t be writing this. No one had ever bullied him, and should we end up back in New Orleans, he says he would work to the death to make sure my sister and I can go here. It changed his life.
Some of the comments below are BS:nnNewman is an amazing school with a great learning environment. Every school has at least one alcoholic/druggie. Wealthy kids are really not that snobby. Even though the tuition is $22,000, it is defiantly worth bringing your child here.
Their BTNOLA camp is outstanding and is a great experience. Learning is great there considering students are teaching students.
Newman is great for preparing students for collage but other than that it's full of crap. The students are druggies and alcoholics and Some of the wealthier kids can be cliquish. I however have some great friends at Newman. Not every student has those qualities. However Recently i was shocked to find out that a number of students were suspended, some expelled for smoking weed and drinking alcohol on school grounds during Wonder Week (a week where students get to teach classes).nThe teachers, parents and headmaster clearly have no control over their A plus students and star athletes. If Newman were to administer a drug test, there would be no athletic department! Dont send your kids to this school, it will corrupt any moral values they have!
