Visually pleasing at first glance. The movement of passengers between the concourses wasn't well thought out. Odd airlines should be located near the security check points as their passengers aren't likely to be connecting. Leave the outer gates for Delta as many of their passengers are just passing through between flights. Long walk from security to gates. Moving sidewalks but no other options but to walk. Electric carts may be a temporary solution. Seems like an airport of the future would have planned for this better. Future airport builders take note. Several food options but all had lines. There are several grab n go options for those who might just want a sandwich and drink. It almost seems like money had to be cut out of the budget to complete the building process. A internal transit system will be added at some later date in the future. Nice try Salt Lake but you could have done better. Great use of non chain eateries. Shake Shack was the only national chain I noticed along my long journey to the gate.
New terminal is beautiful and massive. Love the floors, makes it easier to roll luggage. Be prepared to walk a ways as there is no quick way to get to terminal B without walking there. I believe this is only during the construction and after completion there will be other quicker ways to get around. This is the nicest airport in the world in my opinion, quite amazing.
I've traveled through salt lake city a few times and have gotten to see the many changes taking place within and on the outside of the airport. Today we had to take a bus to the terminal and was most definitely a new experience for myself. The staff here is always so kind and the facility is always clean. Most definitely recommend this airport for traveling or layovers.
It is a nice facility. All the seats in the waiting area have power to change your electronics. However, it is a good half mile from the front of the terminal to the most distant Southwest gate. There are some moving walkways along the way, but it is still a long walk. Other airports of this size will have a train to get you to your gate faster and easier.
The new airport is great! I especially appreciate the extra large bathroom stalls to accommodate ALL THE LUGGAGE. No more slapstick comedy as I try to squeeze myself, a carry-on, a coat, a backpack, and a very full bladder into the restroom.
Also, all of the charger outlets. Outlets forever!
Good job.
