Old Federal Campground

Clean and well kept campground. Nice campsites and friendly people. I'll go there again, anytime.

We moved to Georgia to be the camp hosts for the 2020 season, I will say I was completely bummed that the campground did not open due to shoreline damage in February and the tornado on Aug. 3rd. I had a wonderful experience exploring the empty campground all year and meeting the locals that walked threw the campground! The rangers that watch over all of the parks were all so awesome and helpful. I hope they will be able to open the campground next year!!

Beautiful park with nice separate swimming area's with beaches in one park. Boat launches also. The marina is very nice also. Just great place to be especially as the sunsets, breathtaking!!

Two other couples, my husband and I had a wonderful time the week we spent at Old Federal Campground in September of 2019! I’m going to comment on the negative aspect of our stay there right away then get on with the fun things!nWe planned our stay at our specific campsites to be close to a bathhouse that one of our friends had been close to in April. Sadly that bathhouse was closed for repairs and had been for 3-4 months according to others campers staying there.nAccording to a couple that stays at Old Federal many times a year the entire drainage line from the bathhouse to the park entrance will have to be excavated and replaced.nThat said, our campsite was lovely as you can see by the photos I’ve posted. Lovely sunsets, level parking spots, water on both sides of our campsites and a nice cove with a beach where we parked our runabout for the week. The cove was large enough that a friend’s huge houseboat had no trouble coming in to the beach to pick us up for a lovely day on the water. We watched a regatta for a time, rode to some of the restaurants we had enjoyed for lunches all week and just enjoyed the beautiful lake for the day.nAqualand had their end of season thank you party for their patrons that weekend and when we returned to our campsites that evening we were able to watch the fireworks they put on sitting in our camp chairs!nWe plan to stay at Old Federal again this year and are already looking forward to it!

Beautiful scenery! Nice site #43. Loved riding bikes, cove was nice on a small raft. Saw kids enjoying the beach across from us. Only complaint bathrooms need remodeling.
