I love Urban Pilates! Whitney has trained me for several years and has taught me so much about pilates. Not only is she an amazing person, she is so knowledgeable! She wants to make sure her clients get the most out of their sessions. She is patient and teaches you step by step to ensure you have the proper form. You will get amazing results and feel better than ever with consistency. Whitney also makes working out fun and challenging at the same time. I always feel so much better and have more energy after our sessions. She truly is one of kind!

I love everything about Urban Pilates! From the moment I did my Intro Pack training with the super sweet and extremely knowledgeable owner Linda, I knew I had finally found a workout I could stick with. Since that time nearly 8 months ago, I have been consistently taking small group classes with Whitney. Whitney is amazing! She is extremely well versed in classical Pilates training, as well as traditional physical training methods. Although the workouts are very tough, she makes them fun and bearable, and explains the purpose of everything she has us do. It's obvious that Whitney is invested in all of her clients reaching whatever level of fitness they wish to achieve. She goes above and beyond to help clients make adjustments necessary to reach their goals.nI highly recommend Urban Pilates!

I am very happy to write this review and share my experience working out at Urban Pilates; one of the best decisions I ever made! For those of you that are thinking, “Pilates is like yoga, stretching, not a tough enough work-out”....please read my story....you are wrong! I am almost 47 and I have been an athlete my entire life; swimming, soccer, volleyball, etc. and always in good shape. Nine years ago, I was in a serious car accident and injured my back. I went through over 6 months of rehab, but was unable to do most types of exercise. Then, a year later I was pregnant and had a baby, but had to be on bed rest for a few months. Due to my injury, pregnancy, and lack of exercise, I gained over 60 lbs. Since my daughter was born, I have tried everything to lose weight and build my strength again; weight-training, strength-training, boot camp, cross-fit, kick-boxing, aerobics, yoga, etc. After a few years, all I had accomplished was further injury, lots of wasted time and money, and feeling very frustrated and disappointed. Then, my doctor asked if I had tried Pilates?? I said, “I’ve done yoga and the stretching helps with flexibility, but it’s not building muscle or burning fat enough.” She said, “Pilates is a lot more than stretching and you should try it”. So, I visited several Pilates studios in the Suwanee, GA area where I live and took some free classes to try it out. I would never say anything negative about a place online, however, suffice to say that when I walked into Urban Pilates I saw an immediate difference when compared to the other studios. Linda, the owner, greeted me with a smile and was immediately helpful, the place is intimate, cozy, and clean, and the equipment is top notch! I signed up that day and months later I am so happy that I did. Other studios claim to offer Pilates, but don’t even have the right equipment. The “trainers” clearly don’t know what they are doing and if you are a beginner, they make you feel very “unwelcome”. The trainers at Urban Pilates are very professional and well-trained, they have work-outs for every skill level, they take the time to coach you and improve your technique, they give you alternate exercises to match your abilities/limitations, and most of all, I’m always laughing and having fun! Lastly, Urban Pilates really surprised me! I had been constantly disappointed by other types of exercise, so I was expecting this to be another failed attempt. I was so wrong; this is a serious work-out! Every work-out is different, the movements are slow and very controlled, and you are always using EVERY muscle group, so you don’t get bored, your muscles are always working hard, I am always sore, and, most importantly, I haven’t hurt myself! I have 15-20 more lbs to lose and my goal is to be in the best shape of my life at age 50....I am on the right track for the first time in years! I met a 58 yr old woman recently who was in incredible shape, had long lean muscle tone, and looked 20 yrs younger. I asked her what she does and she said, “Pilates!” I’m hooked and love this place! Give it a try!

Whitney makes the classes fun, and challenging. No two classes are the same, and the sessions are never boring or monotonous. The 60 minute session flies by and you’re guaranteed to break a sweat and get your heart rate up. Whitney explains each exercise carefully to ensure it is done properly to maximize the workout. Love coming every week and hate to miss a session!

I love Urban Pilates because the owner/instructor Linda met me at my fitness level and customized the workouts according to my needs. I used to dread going to the gym, but now I look forward to my Pilates days. Both Linda and Whitney are always personable and welcoming.
